The UCYSL recreational program is designed as a platform for the development of players from Under-4 to Under-14. The focus in the recreational program is the enjoyment of the game in a family environment.

Minis program overview

UCYSL provides both academy-style programs and team-oriented programs during different seasons within the calendar year. Each program is designed to provide players the opportunity to explore the game in an age-appropriate environment.

Academy program

In the academy program, players are assigned to pools based on age and ability. The academy training sessions are organized and delivered by the Club’s professional staff with the assistance of parent volunteers.

Games may be played during weekday evenings or on Saturdays based on field availability and scheduling. Because players are not assigned to specific teams, the games are modeled in a “street soccer” environment with coaches facilitating the organization and monitoring of teams on game-day.

Team-oriented program

In the team-oriented program, players are assigned to teams as part of the registration process. Teams are coached by parent volunteers. The Club provides training, curriculum, and support for parent-coaches in the team-oriented program. Practices are organized and scheduled by the parent-coaches.

Depending on the number of players and teams in an age group, teams may participate in a UCYSL house league or may be entered in a regional league with our local club partners in neighboring communities.

Games are held on Saturdays.
