Competitive Program

UC Premier

Dive into the dynamic world of Competitive soccer with UC Premier, where passion for the game meets the drive for excellence. Whether you’re transitioning from recreational play or seeking a new challenge, our program offers a pathway to elevate your skills, resilience, and teamwork to new heights. Here’s a quick guide to what we offer and how you can be a part of it:

General

Competitive soccer is for players who are looking for a higher level of competition and commitment. Teams may travel for games and tournaments, and players are expected to attend more frequent practices.

We offer Competitive soccer programs for players aged U8 to U19.

Competitive soccer teams generally have more frequent practices and games compared to recreational teams. Players should expect a higher level of commitment both on and off the field.

Player Assessments & Tryouts

Players are evaluated during tryouts based on their skills, athleticism, attitude, and potential for growth. Our goal is to form Competitive teams that can succeed both on and off the field.

Tryouts for Competitive soccer teams are typically held starting in May for the following year.

We welcome all interested players to complete a Player Assessment Request form. Once completed, they should arrive for tryouts according to their birth year and our tryout schedule: UC Premier 2024-25 Tryouts Schedule.

Yes, many players start in Recreational Soccer and then transition to Competitive soccer as they develop their skills and passion for the game. We encourage all players to pursue their soccer goals, whatever they may be.

If you’d like to have your player assessed outside the tryout window, please submit a Player Assessment Request form. Our Director of Coaching will evaluate and reach out with further information.

Costs

We offer different payment options and plans for everyone. For specific fee information regarding your player, please reach out to our Comp Registrar: comp@ucysl.org.

We aim to maintain affordable fees for families, but there are additional expenses such as:

• Competitive players are responsible for purchasing their own uniforms.
• Depending on the team, there may be extra charges for tournament fees, travel expenses, and optional specialized training.
• Fundraising events are frequently organized to help alleviate expenses.

Financial Aid is available upon request and is assessed on a case-by-case basis. Players can submit a Financial Aid Request form for evaluation of eligibility.
