The UCYSL Minis program is designed specifically for players under 5 who may not be physically or socially ready for the structure of a team-oriented environment.
The Minis program is organized in an academy format. Players are assigned to pools, with each pool given a schedule of time slots. The objective of the program is to develop and nurture a love for physical activity, sports, and the game of soccer.
In the academy program, players are assigned to pools based on age and ability. The academy training sessions are organized and delivered by the Club’s professional staff with the assistance of parent volunteers.
Sessions are designed with age-appropriate content and delivered in a “fun” environment using games and other activities to foster skills development. The focus of the program is engagement, allowing each child to explore the game.
The academy curriculum provides a balance of soccer skills development with mental, social, and physical components. The curriculum has been created using current best practices in the field of long-term athletic development.
