Who: Boys/Girls 2008-2011 age groups
What: A 13-week program focused on age-appropriate athletic development
When: Aug 3 – Oct 30
UC Premier is pleased to present an athletic development program geared toward players in the U10-U13 age groups. The program will be led by Technical Director Scott Schoenthal, long-time club and high school coach, and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
The program’s purpose is to introduce the foundation of physical movements and patterns to support long-term athletic development (LTAD). Athletes will participate in one mandatory field session (1 hour) and one mandatory at-home homework assignment per week. The curriculum is designed to support the demands of soccer practice and game environments. Sessions will be presented in an engaging manner and will utilize drills and game-like activities using evidence-based best practices.
Players will receive individualized feedback on their strengths and areas for potential growth. Parents will receive newsletter updates throughout the program on the curriculum, standards, and progress.
To maintain an effective coach-to-player ratio, sessions will be limited to a maximum of 12 players. Two sessions will be offered – Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
All sessions will be held at Shorty Garcia Park.
Applications for the program will open on Jul 1 and extend until Jul 24. It is important that players who are accepted to the program fulfill all program requirements (attendance at sessions, participation in homework activities) – please consider when deciding whether to apply.
For any questions, please contact Technical Director Scott Schoenthal.
